Seed Projects

Seedlings just emerging from their growing pots.

Local communities are of course the focus of our work as a Creative People and Places project. Our Seed Projects will allow the people of West Cumbria to put forward and trial new ideas in a small and safe way to test whether they have legs and could be taken onto a larger scale project through the Jury for Joy process.

The process of connecting with the people of West Cumbria and planting these Seed Projects is very laid back in it’s approach, we want this to be an enjoyable process – one in which we sit down and talk about what it is that you would like to see, what you would like to experience and how we could help you achieve this. We’ll be reaching out to you, but that’s not to say you shouldn’t reach out to us if you have an idea or would like to try something and would benefit from collaborating with us.

Once we’ve established what it is you’d like to bring to life, we can then help you achieve this goal – we have access to creatives, skills and the knowledge you may need to realise these ideas. If together we feel a smaller project has room to grow, then we take that idea to the Jury for Joy – a gathering of local people chosen to make decisions on larger creative activity in West Cumbria. We’ll present the idea with the potential of being given funding to realise a bigger project.
