We will provide communities in West Cumbria with commissioning power & budget to initiate co-creation projects with our KIND Futures artists throughout 2024 and 2025. These projects will focus on participatory co-created work where local people can get directly involved in taking part in creative activity with their chosen artist. This work will be developed across the whole of West Cumbria. It is likely that the co-creation projects will be built from our Community Producer’s growing network and feed into the Seed Projects work they have been developing.
KIND Futures
December 2023 - December 2024
KIND Futures is a year-long artist development programme in collaboration with Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven. We are working with 13 artists to help them develop their practice and support them to create projects with local communities. The artists are currently receiving development training with Rosehill & Unfinished Business (a cross arts company) prior to commencing their work with local communities.
Each week KIND Future artists take part in online workshops where they’re taken out of their creative comfort zones and encouraged to work in new and exciting ways. The artists involved have now started forming their own collectives, creating for their futures as well as for the KIND project.
