A special Workington soundscape

To accompany the light installations at Hall Park Light Works, our free outdoor event will feature a beautiful soundscape throughout the park from musicians from Workington and Egremont.

One group involved is Workington Town Brass Band. Our Project Producer Karen dropped into rehearsals last week and got a sneak peek – they sound great!

We’re feel very lucky to be working with them on our event. Their sound is a hugely important part of Workington’s heritage and they provide local people the opportunity to practise and develop their musicianship.

Workington Town Brass Band meet every Thursdays at 7:30pm in their band room on Bolton Street. They’re currently looking for new members and a new conductor. They welcome players of any age and ability – so if you want to get involved just drop by for a chat or contact them through their Facebook page. They’re an incredibly friendly and talented bunch of people.

We can’t wait to hear their music against a backdrop of enchanting lights at Hall Park Light Works. Big thanks to the technicians from Carnegie Theatre & Arts Centre who helped with the recordings.

Hall Park Light Works takes place on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December at Workington Hall between 5:30pm – 8:30pm both evenings. It’s free to attend and no ticket is needed – you can just turn up anytime within the opening times and enjoy the experience with your friends and family.
