Lights shine bright in Workington

Wow at the weekend we welcomed over 10,000 people to Hall Park Light Works in Workington. It was a brilliant atmosphere and great to see so many local people enjoying a wonderland of free light and sound art in one of their local parks.

We had lots of great feedback from people that came along…

“Absolutely love it”

“One of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had in a long time”

“Workington deserves this”

“Should be like this 24/7, 365 days a year to lift people’s spirits”

You can read more about it on BBC Cumbria and listen to artist Hannah Fox talk about it more on BBC Radio Cumbria too.

If you joined us for it we hope you and your family and friends enjoyed it!

Hall Park Light Works was a real team effort so we’d like to say a big thank you to…

Light artists Hannah Fox, Ronan Devlin and Dan Fox.

Sound artists Workington Town Band, Ant Dickinson and Dan Fox

Our train worker performers George Adams, Kato Thomas, Jenny Reeves, Hannah Dial, Maya Marsh and Katie Duxbury from About Time Dance Company.

The wonderful West Cumbria Guild of Model Engineers for all the miniature passenger train rides.

The Fluid Production team and all the volunteers, crew and staff making the magic work behind the scenes.

We produced the event in partnership with Cumberland Council as part of their Light District series. A special shout out goes to Ellie Jones from the council for working so closely with us.
