April 2022 - September 2023

Delivered by Helen Morgan and Janice Murray of Morgan Murray Arts, this work was made co-creatively with 99 people from Maryport, Whitehaven, Cleator Moor and Workington.

We delivered 32 creative workshops from November 2022 to March 2023. These workshops connected with communities, gathered stories, ideas, looked at barriers to engagement and consulted on future activity. We supported participants to create 175 works of art. We then undertook a period of research and development that provided the opportunity to process the information gathered and make suggestions for future activity.

In September 2023 we developed the 175 pieces of artworks into an animated film with local artist Amy Story and toured them as a roaming film exhibition to Workington, Maryport, Penrith & Whitehaven. The tour received positive feedback from audiences…

“I think it’s amazing, better than going to see something at a museum. This could get people involved in arts”
