Giles W Bennett – Light, Art & Installation

Light Works is back for 2026, bringing light, creativity, music, movement and community together for two special winter celebrations in Workington and Seascale. 

This year, we’re going bigger, brighter and more participatory, with four brilliant artists working alongside local schools, community groups, families and residents to create the festival together. 

Multimedia artist Giles W Bennett will be working with communities across West Cumbria to create a special new installation for Light Works 2026. 

Working with local people through a series of creative workshops, Giles will help communities explore ideas, experiment with materials and bring their imagination to life. 

The finished installation will become part of this year’s Light Works celebrations in Workington and Seascale, creating something that has been made with and by the communities who will experience it.
