First Public Sharing | Saturday 15 August 2026 | 6pm | Rosehill Theatre | FREE

The Knotted Project invites you to join them at Rosehill Theatre for the first public sharing of ADAPT, a bold new theatre project co-created by young people and emerging artists from across West Cumbria.

ADAPT brings together young people and early career artists to explore what it means to grow up in Copeland today. Through a genuine co-creation process, the young people involved are shaping the work alongside professional artists, creating a performance that is honest, imaginative and rooted in their experiences, ideas and voices.

For this first sharing, the young people will perform alongside emerging professional performers, offering audiences an opportunity to experience the work as it develops and celebrate the creative talent of a new generation of Cumbrian artists.

This is more than a performance. It is an opportunity to see the power of youth-led creativity, discover emerging artistic talent and celebrate what can happen when young people are trusted as collaborators and creators.

Following the performance, audiences are invited to stay for food, drinks and conversation with the young people and emerging artists behind the work. Come along to celebrate, connect and imagine what could happen next.

A project that grows and adapts

ADAPT is designed as an evolving touring project. Following the work developed in West Cumbria, the production will travel to Barrow-in-Furness, where a new group of young people will work with the artists to adapt the performance and bring their own stories and experiences to the stage.

The result will be a touring model that continually shifts and evolves with the people who create and perform it, reflecting the different experiences and identities of young people across Cumbria.

Alongside the artistic work, ADAPT creates valuable opportunities for early career artists to develop their practice, build connections and gain meaningful professional experience. The project brings together arts organisations, schools and communities to help strengthen the creative landscape for young people and emerging artists across the region.

ADAPT is supported using public funding through the National Lottery by Arts Council England and this phase of the project is delivered in partnership with Everyone Here, See It To Be It, Rosehill, Full of Noises and The Knotted Project.

Together, the partners share a commitment to creating opportunities for young people to develop their creative voices, build confidence, forge new connections and help shape the future cultural landscape of our region.

Join us for the first public sharing of ADAPT and come and see what happens when young people are given the space, trust and opportunity to shape the work.
